Some important information
Table reservations
To avoid disappointment, please reserve a table prior to your arrival at the restaurant. You can make reservations on our website or by telephone. Please note that we can only accept same-day internet reservations until 11:30 a.m. for lunch, and until 5:30 p.m. for dinner. Telephone reservations can be made at any time during our business hours.
If anyone in your party is allergic or sensitive to a particular food or drink, please inform us when you make your reservation.
We ask that our guests arrive for the time they have reserved. If you know you will arrive late, please inform us. Otherwise, we can only hold tables for half an hour.
We ask that our guests arrive by 10 p.m. at the latest. Please note that we cannot take orders for our Sampler Menu after 9:30 p.m.
Capacity
The Onyx Restaurant puts food quality above all else. For this reason, we can only take reservations for up to 6 people for a la carte meals. If there are more than 6 people in your group, we can provide you with offers from our fixed menus.
Parking
The restaurant is located in the heart of the city, in the pedestrian zone of Budapest’s business district. Car traffic in the area around the restaurant is restricted. If you are coming by car in the evening, we can arrange a parking space for you for up to three hours in the parking garage of the Vörösmarty Office Building. From the direction of Roosevelt Square, the parking garage can be reached by taking Apáczai Csere János Street to Deák Ferenc Street. Please let us know when you make your reservation if you will need a parking space.
Dress Code
The recommended dress code for lunchtime service is business casual; for dinner service, the dress code is seasonally-appropriate semi-formal.
Pets
Please do not bring your four-legged friends, as our restaurant is not equipped to accommodate small animals.
Smoking
The Onyx Restaurant is about culinary enjoyment, about treating the senses. Our primary focus is on flavours, aromas, and harmony. This is irreconcilable with tobacco smoke; therefore, in keeping with international trends and our own values, our restaurant is non-smoking.
Children
In our experience, young children are not capable of enjoying a culinary journey that may last 3 – 4 hours. If possible, please arrange for child-minding or babysitting services for the time you plan to spend at our restaurant.
Hours
The Onyx Restaurant is open Tuesday to Friday for lunch from 12 – 2 p.m. and Tuesday to Saturday for dinner from 6:30 – 11 p.m.
Holidays
At the Onyx Restaurant, we constantly work to refine every aspect of our services so that we are able to offer our guests a world-class gastronomic experience. One of the most important aspects of quality is continuity. For this reason we are closed on Sunday and Monday, so that during the rest of the week our permanent restaurant and kitchen staffs can devote even more attention to our guests.
For the same reason, the restaurant is closed during the second week in January, and for three weeks in August, so that our colleagues can re-energize themselves and take part in professional courses and programs.
